A basic requirement of an efficient infrastructure management is that inspection and stock information are highly available and up-to-date. The mentioned information include master data of an infrastructure, consistent records of all planned and completed reconditioning tasks as well as measured data of miscellaneous monitoring systems. The adjoining figure exemplifies data of a contact wire inspection. In Netherlands, the absolute amount of measured data consists of approximately 11 gigabyte. The chronological data storage enables a proper representation of local- and time-based relations. So changes of the run of a track and the chronological assignment of data to these different track states are traceable. The histories of all IRISSYS^®-objects are saved in the system. (...)
